Jacqui McFarlane CFP, CLU, CH F.C. Born, raised, educated and married in Winnipeg, Manitoba, I came to Waterloo in 1975 with my husband, Frank. We have two children, Melody and Todd, and five fantastic grandchildren. I am what some would refer to as a 'Professional Volunteer'. I was very proud to have been chosen as the local Jaycee's 'Citizen of the Year' in 1996. Have been involved with Block Parents, Big Brothers, local community boards and for the last 15 years I have been an involved member of the Kiwanis Club of Waterloo North. I have been a member of the board of directors of Advocis, the professional association for financial advisors in Canada, for 15 years. I have served in most of the chairs and was President of Advocis Golden Triangle in 2005. I am also a "Key Leader" with the Key Leader Organization, whose mission is "To inspire young people to achieve their personal best through service." My work history includes being a partner in a Mark's Work Warehouse retail franchise and working with Collins Safety, for whom I traveled around Canada opening and closing stores and working on their inventory. I first contacted Mutual Life in 1987, looking for an entry computer position, and was immediately recruited by the Kitchener branch office. I went to numerous interviews. Our marriage even survived the 'Spousal' interview. In our travels over the years Frank and I had met many 'insurance sales people' and had never really been too impressed. By this time, however, we had met an advisor with Mutual and had trusted him enough to get our affairs in order. I had always been interested in finance and had been reading the Globe and Mail for as long as I could remember. I signed my contract with Mutual Life on February 20th, 1987, at the ripe old age of 42. I worked with Mutual, then The Mutual Group and then Clarica until December 31st, 2004. During that time I achieved my CFP, (Certified Financial Planning designation), a CLU, (Chartered Life Underwriter designation), and a CH F.C. (Chartered Financial Consultant designation), the later two being insurance based. I have also been accorded a certificate from The Centre of Family Business at Conrad Grebel College. I am now working as an independent broker. In other words, I have the ability to write business with any insurance company. I am working with and place all my insurance business through the WCS Bridgeforce brokerage in Cambridge. I am also associated with Armstrong & Quaile on Weber Street in Waterloo. They are what is known as a "dealer". Every person in Ontario who holds a mutual fund license must have their business scrutinized by a dealer. I have known John Armstrong and Dennis Brumley, ( WCS Bridgeforce), for more than 15 years. I am currently licensed and doing business with Equitable Life Insurance, Empire Life Insurance, Manulife, Sun Life ,Wawanesa and RBC. . I also have access to innumerable investment fund companies. At this time, my current business is with CI Investment Funds , Meritas Mutual Funds, ING, Fidelity and AIM Trimark. I am also contracted with PPI, a company that supports advisors in the field of Group Insurance. At this time all my group insurance contracts are with Sun Life. I offer knowledge, life experience, financial experience, professionalism , integrity and ethics to individuals with whom I am working. Financial planning services, with written reports can be produced on a "Fee for Service" basis. Or, I am prepared to meet and discuss financial issues about the placement of insurance and financial products. Commissions are then generated on the placement. Contact me, and let's begin the process of getting your affairs in order and bringing you the peace of mind you deserve. |
